what is up with all of you?

Adele here, I am wondering how many of you are still out there? How many have your kids back? What are the problems you all are facing, and how many of you have joined Military Families Speak Out?

Hello!

HI! Hope everyone has a good Holiday! How is everyone?
I have been major depressed and just starting to get back online. All we can do is keep fighting to get our troops out of Iraq! Things there are getting worse everyday there. I also can't believe how many people are not seeing what Bush is doing.
Terri, I also feel ashamed to be American. Has everyone stopped talking in our group?
Peace to all!

Feeling Hopeless

Been kind of bummed out here. My son is still heavily fighting in Najaf area, and they are starting to move him around again. He lost 6 guys from his unit. His wife's baby is due December 7th. Honeymoon baby. Married four days before he shipped out. Been missing the whole experience. Feel like no one wants to hear it anymore. It is beyond me how so many Americans are so blind to all the death, mutilation, destruction still continuing every day and night in Iraq. I am beginning to be ashamed to be an American. Is everyone so heartless or selfish that they really don't care? I am at a lost as to how to make a difference. All I can do these days is pray that my son comes home alive. I also pray for every soldier over there to have the strength to make it through this. I cry everyday for the losses.

Checking in...

Good to see you all here!

Well, in the craziness of the first weeks of school I have not looked at the web site for a while. It was so good to see someone was back on here blogging.
The Sept 15th press conference in Las Vegas apparently had some good effect. I recieved a packet of many press clippings from all over the US, so we got some media attention finally.
My local paper is finally doing an article on M'kesha and I, and I think the NY Times article with her is going to come out soon I hope. They did spend the money to fly a reporter to her, so they should print the article.
The baby is doing fine he is huge! Over 12 pounds now. We are so fortunate that all of the poisons she was exposed to in Iraq did not hurt the baby, let us hope that stuff did not hurt M'kesha either.
Her operation will be on November 2, but the doctor said there was no way to fix the leg, it was broken for far too long in Iraq before they shipped her out. She may walk with a cane for the rest of her life. I never thought I would be glad to trade her leg for her life, but I now feel it is a acceptable trade.
I am so proud of all of you ladies. Keep on talking, the best way to really change things is to persuade the people around you, they will persuade the others they talk to, and so on.
I hurt with you all when I read about your children, I just cannot let all of your stories go away. I told your stories to the people I have spoken with this summer, and those women cried with you. People out there do care about our loved ones, and want peace.
I have to believe that this war will create solidarity between women around the world, if we can give birth, we can create a spirit of peace in the world. I saw it in action in Japan, so I know it can happen. Keep the faith ladies, you have no choice. Love, Adele

Where so I start?

Hi!
Where do I start. I just found out last night that my son Teddy is getting sent to Iraq next month- he was told he won't be home for Thanksgiving.
The surgeon now told the commander that he can deploy. He says that it is only arthritis in his shoulder. I am very upset as we talked to Lateef's family today and they told us how bad everything is. One of his young cousin's was killed , funeral today, getting candy from the soldiers at a water plant last week that had a car bombing.
Talked to Kristin in Germany today and she said that the soldiers at her base are mad. They all filed for absentee ballots in Iraq, and now they find out that they are not registered for an absentee ballot. She thinks because they all will vote for Kerry. Corruption again!
She watched 9/11 again today at her base and she said she cried throughout the movie, I told her I understand- she is having flash backs.
One kid out and now one back in, ladies my nerves are shot!!
But,
I will keep fighting. Going to a Kerry meeting with a group tonight in Toledo, OH
Peace,
Teresa

Sisters Speak Out

Amen, Teresa! In the name of continuing to beat the drum, there is a new group of women who have lost siblings in Iraq who need our help. They have put together some devastating ads and need a little money to get them out. Go see them at Sisters Speak Out.

It was obvious from the debate that George Bush is completely out of touch with reality. What's worse, he has the means to convince us that we are the ones who don't see clearly. Don't believe it, but don't believe that voting will be enough this time. He stole one election. He would certainly steal another, now that his neoconservative friends control all three branches of government and the Supreme Court. It's not that Republicans are the problem. Indeed, many Republicans are as alarmed as their Democratic sisters at recent developments. So give where you can and speak out at every opportunity.
